Mission
Our mission is to promote learning by engaging students and to advance research and scholarly inquiry in various ways -- with support of external funding, sometimes in partnership with local and global communities, and often in joint effort with non-governmental organizations and governmental agencies.
Goals
• To generate new knowledge through pure and applied research that involves partnerships between students and faculty, and, where appropriate, with local and global communities.
• To create a learning environment where teacher-scholars engage students in discovery, critical analysis, and quality research that is recognized internationally.
• To prepare students for professional or graduate school and for careers in science, industry and education.
• To promote scientific literacy and numeracy in broader communities.
